Lombard Glen Grant 31yo
Michael Jackson - Whisky Writer - UK (26 September 2006)
Nose: Winey. Treacle toffee.
Palate: Despite hefty oak and sherry, the distillery character survives. The characteristic hazlenut dryness extends into a maltiness remniscent of hard cookies. Like drinking a Bath Oliver biscuit.
Finish: Some cedary oak.
Conclusion: I usually find delicate old Glen Grants to be overwhelmed by oak. This example makes for a mature dram with considerable complexity.
