D&M Tasting Notes
Mark Mitchell - D&M wines and Liquors, San Francisco (10 May 2007)
Greeny pine color with a big peat, big earth, just plain big nose, along with some ozone. Richly textured, this is a spicy malt with lots of peat and something elusive. Somebody suggested some sort of Middle Eastern Spice to it that we just can't name and we'll have to leave it at that. One taster remarked I'm strangely drawn to this, but I don't know if I like it. Obviously Islay, but different, and world's better than anything bottled under the distillery's aegis. There's something rivetingly pretty about it.
