Located overlooking the River Spey, near Craigellachie. Renowned for its richness, you can factor in use of the smallest spirit stills on Speyside, only ever matured in ex sherry casks from Jerez Spain and its character traditionally began with Golden Promise barley. The malt is a contributor to the Famous Grouse Blend. Regarded by many to be one of the finest Single Malts, the Macallan has big, bold and beautifully rounded flavours. There are hints of peat and smoke with a floral trace - classic Speyside. An after-dinner malt.

Tasting Notes:
Matured in sherry casks. Rich, fragrant and complex nose. Hints of smoke and light fruit.
This cask strength bottling is best awakened with water. Palate delivers what the nose hinted. Sweet, peppery and rich. Very full. Well balanced and full-bodied. A very rare bottling of a beautiful Speyside malt.
